The wild west is a formidable challenge traditionally savoured by expert paddlers. Brooke and Lady Rose Marine have played host to innumerable local and international guests, offering novice paddlers a chance to experience west coast waters by safely transporting them to their launch at the Sechart Whaling Station Lodge -- gateway to Pacific Rim National Park 's Broken Group Islands. His achievements opened the west to paddling exploration and adventures on the west coast.

In recognition of this award, Lady Rose Marine in Port Alberni was presented with a ceremonial drum by aboriginal artist Janet Rogers.
